In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Annibal Kennedy of DMK won in this constituency beating A Anbalagan of AIADMK by a margin of 4780 votes which was 20.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A. Anbalagan of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Annibal Kennedy of DMK by a margin of 908 votes which was 3.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, A. Anbalagan of AIADMK won this seat defeating N. Anand of IND by a margin of 3204 votes which was 14.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
