In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, J Prakash Kumar of IND won in this constituency beating Vaiyapuri Manikandan of AIADMK by a margin of 934 votes which was 4.03% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Vaiyapuri Manikandan of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating J. Pregash Kumar of AINRC by a margin of 2164 votes which was 9.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nandha. T. Saravanan of DMK won this seat defeating A. Kasilingam of AIADMK by a margin of 2976 votes which was 13.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
