In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, L Sambath of DMK won in this constituency beating A Baskar of AIADMK by a margin of 4179 votes which was 14.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A. Baskar of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating V. Balan of AINRC by a margin of 5387 votes which was 18.73% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, A. Baskar of AIADMK won this seat defeating Dr. M.A.S. Subramanian of DMK by a margin of 9727 votes which was 38.39% of the total votes polled for the seat.
