This constituency covers an approximate area of 39 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Mannadipet is: 11°57'30.6"N 79°38'03.5"E.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, A Namassivayam of BJP won in this constituency beating A Krishnan alias A K Kumar of DMK by a margin of 2750 votes which was 9.68% of the total votes cast. In 2016, T.P.R. Selvame of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating A. Krishnan of DMK by a margin of 419 votes which was 1.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, T.P.R. Selvam of AINRC won this seat defeating K.P.K. Arul Murugan of PMK by a margin of 4716 votes which was 18.83% of the total votes polled for the seat.
