In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Djeacoumar C of AINRC won in this constituency beating Sun Kumaravel of DMK by a margin of 2751 votes which was 8.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, S.V. Sugumaran of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating S. Kumaravel of DMK by a margin of 5563 votes which was 17.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, C. Djeacoumar of INC won this seat defeating P. Anandabaskaran of AINRC by a margin of 2293 votes which was 8.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
