According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 73.54%, while it was 77.83% in 2016, and 77.18% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, Ramesh Parambath of INC won in this constituency beating N Haridasan Master of IND by a margin of 300 votes which was 1.29% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dr. V.Ramachandran of IND was the winner in this seat beating E. Valsaraj of INC by a margin of 2139 votes which was 9.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, E.Valsaraj of INC won this seat defeating T.K.Gangadharan of CPIM by a margin of 6104 votes which was 27.78% of the total votes polled for the seat.
