According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 76.32%, while it was 81.71% in 2016, and 83.48% in 2011.

In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, K S P alias S Ramesh of AINRC won in this constituency beating P Selvanadane of INC by a margin of 12246 votes which was 46.87% of the total votes cast. In 2016, N.S.J. Jayabal @ Ayyanar of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating S. Ramesh of IND by a margin of 3802 votes which was 14.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N. Rangasamy of AINRC won this seat defeating V. Pethaperumal of INC by a margin of 9757 votes which was 41.85% of the total votes polled for the seat.
