In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, V Aroumougame alias Akd of AINRC won in this constituency beating M Kannan of INC by a margin of 18531 votes which was 64.7% of the total votes cast. In 2016, N. Rangasamy of AINRC was the winner in this seat beating V. Aroumougam A.K.D. of INC by a margin of 3404 votes which was 11.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N. Rangasamy of AINRC won this seat defeating V. Aroumougam of INC by a margin of 16677 votes which was 67.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
