In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Nityananda Gond of BJP won in this constituency beating Subash Gond of BJD by a margin of 9,922 votes which was 6.48% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Subash Gond of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jatindra Nath Gond of INC by a margin of 10,522 votes which was 7.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jagabandhu Majhi of BJD won this seat defeating Dharmu Gond of BJP by a margin of 14,171 votes which was 12.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.
