In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Brajakishore Pradhan of BJD won in this constituency beating Kalandi Charan Samal of BJP by a margin of 24,102 votes which was 18.89% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Brajakishore Pradhan of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Kalandi Samal of BJP by a margin of 14,322 votes which was 11.91% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Braja Kishore Pradhan of IND won this seat defeating Mahesh Sahoo of BJD by a margin of 8,642 votes which was 8.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
