In 2014, Balabhadra Majhi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Pradip Kumar Dishari of INC by a margin of 24,895 votes which was 16.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shibaji Majhi of INC won this seat defeating Balabhadra Majhi of BJD by a margin of 3,039 votes which was 2.27% of the total votes polled for the seat.
