In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Prabhu Jani of BJD won in this constituency beating Kailash Chandra Kulesika of INC by a margin of 229 votes which was 0.17% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kailash Chandra Kulesika of INC was the winner in this seat beating Hema Gomango of BJD by a margin of 22,473 votes which was 18.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jhina Hikaka of BJD won this seat defeating Hema Gamang of INC by a margin of 3,406 votes which was 4.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
