In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Santosh Singh Saluja of INC won in this constituency beating Laxman Bag of BJP by a margin of 128 votes which was 0.07% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ayub Khan of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Santosh Singh Saluja of INC by a margin of 3,868 votes which was 2.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Santosh Singh Saluja of INC won this seat defeating Haji Mahammad Ayub Khan of BJD by a margin of 5,304 votes which was 3.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
