In 2014, Bhagirathi Badajena of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Kumar Routray of INC by a margin of 5,747 votes which was 3.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bibhuti Bhusan Balabantaray of BJD won this seat defeating Suresh Kumar Routaray of INC by a margin of 14,925 votes which was 12.85% of the total votes polled for the seat.
