There were a total of 2,25,787 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,15,515 were male, 1,10,248 female and 24 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,20,868 registered voters, of which 1,15,515 were male, 1,05,937 female and 28 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,98,431 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,06,113 were male, 92,316 female and 2 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Chandra Sarathi Behera of BJD won in this constituency beating Dilip Kumar Mallick of BJP by a margin of 26,079 votes which was 16.74% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Chandra Sarathi Behera of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Dilip Kumar Mallick of BJP by a margin of 25,791 votes which was 18.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kalindi Behera of BJD won this seat defeating Ashima Mahananda of INC by a margin of 49,344 votes which was 43.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
