In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Byomakesh Ray of BJD won in this constituency beating Manmohan Samal of BJP by a margin of 8,080 votes which was 4.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Byomkesh Ray of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Amiya Kumar Mahapatra of INC by a margin of 24,883 votes which was 15.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijaya Nayak of BJD won this seat defeating Amiya Kumar Mahapatra of INC by a margin of 7,613 votes which was 5.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
