In 2014, Laxman Munda of CPM was the winner in this seat beating Dayanidhi Kisan of BJD by a margin of 1,818 votes which was 1.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bhimsen Choudhury of BJP won this seat defeating Laxman Munda of CPM by a margin of 3,356 votes which was 2.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.
