In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Sanatan Bijuli of BJP won in this constituency beating Brundaban Das of BJD by a margin of 11,119 votes which was 7.56% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ganeswar Patra of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jaminikanta Naik of INC by a margin of 16,834 votes which was 12.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Manoranjan Sethi of BJD won this seat defeating Ganeswar Patra of INC by a margin of 15,499 votes which was 14.5% of the total votes polled for the seat.
