Election results

In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, Nihar Kanti Chakma of INC won in this seat defeating Kina Ranjan Chakma of BJP by a margin of 2,400 which was 18.53% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 45.88% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Nihar Kanti Chakma of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Priti Ranjan Chakma of MNF by a margin of 3,334 votes which was 30.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 63.84% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Nihar Kanti Chakma of INC won this seat beating Alak Bikash Chakma of MNF by a margin of 1,540 votes which was 17.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. MNF had a vote share of 56.73% in the seat.

West Tuipui comprises of the following areas of Lunglei district in the South region of Mizoram: Villages Bandiasora, Saisen, Devasuri, malsuri, lokisuri Puankhai, and Hmundo in W Bunghmun R D Block; and Villages ukdasuri (Tuilet), Sugarbasora, Diplibagh (Kawizau),Tuichawng, Balukiasuri, New Balukiasuri, lamthai III, lamthai II, lamthai I, Serhuan, Nunsuri, Champasuri, muriskata, Bindiasora, Thekaduar/Kawrpuichhuah, angrasuri, Balungsuri, Zohmun, Khojoisuri (New) and Khojoisuri (old), Chengkawllui (Samuksuri), Belpei (matiasora), Silkur, Borsegojasora, Tiperaghat III, Tiperaghat II, Tiperaghat I, letisuri, Khojaisuri, Bornasuri, S Chawilung, Kalapani, Tlabung (Notified Town), Sedailui and Thanzamasora in lungsen R D Block.
