In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, Tawnluia of MNF won in this seat defeating W Chhuanawma of IND by a margin of 739 which was 5.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. MNF had a vote share of 39.52% in 2018 in this seat.
In 2013, Lalrinliana Sailo of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Dr H Lallungmuana of MNF by a margin of 2,985 votes which was 23.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 48.66% in the seat.
In the 2008 elections, Lalrinliana Sailo of INC won this seat beating Rualkhuma Hmar of ZNP by a margin of 881 votes which was 7.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. ZNP had a vote share of 39.02% in the seat.

Tuichang comprises of the following areas of Khawzawl district in the North region of Mizoram: Khawzawl (Notified Town), Villages of Hmuncheng, Chawngtlai, Khawpuitan, Tualte, Vangtlang, Chalrang, New Chalrang, melhnih Chalrang, lungtan, Tlangpuite, Khuailui, Arro, Phunchawngzawl, Khualen and Khawhai (Notified Town) in Khawzawl R D Block; and Villages Riangtlei, Tlangpui and Sialhawk in e lungdar R D Block.
