A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Shahada constituency, which are: Akkalkuwa, Shirpur, Nandurbar. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh and Tapi district of Gujarat.

In 2014, Padvi Udesing Kocharu of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Padmakar Vijaysing Valvi of INC by a margin of 719 votes which was 0.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
