This constituency covers an approximate area of 88.69 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 18°40'44.8"N 73°46'14.9"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Pimpri constituency, which are: Maval, Bhosari, Chinchwad, Khed Alandi. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Anna Dadu Bansode of NCP won in this constituency beating Adv Chabukswar Gautam Sukhdev of SS by a margin of 19,778 votes which was 11.14% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Adv Chabukswar Gautam Sukhdeo of SS was the winner in this seat beating Anna Dadu Bansode of NCP by a margin of 2,335 votes which was 1.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Anna Bansode of NCP won this seat defeating Amar Shankar Sable of BJP by a margin of 9,527 votes which was 6.5% of the total votes polled for the seat.
