This constituency covers an approximate area of 1771.43 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 21°15'43.6"N 75°28'10.6"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Chopda constituency, which are: Shirpur, Raver, Jalgaon Rural, Amalner. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Barwani and Khargone districts of Madhya Pradesh.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Latabai Chandrakant Sonawane of SS won in this constituency beating Jagdishchandra Ramesh Valvi of NCP by a margin of 20,422 votes which was 10.24% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sonawane Chandrakant Baliram of SS was the winner in this seat beating Patil Madhuri Kishor of NCP by a margin of 11,935 votes which was 6.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jagdishchandra Ramesh Walvi (Jagdishbhau) of NCP won this seat defeating Salunke Dnyaneshwar Pitambar (D P Salunke Sir) of SS by a margin of 14,838 votes which was 9.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
