There were a total of 3,55,184 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Akola East Assembly constituency, of which 1,80,794 were male, 1,74,375 female and 15 of the third gender. Akola Tehsil (Part)-Ghusar, Palso BK., Borgaon Manju, Kapshi and Akola, Umari Pragane Balapur (CT) and Malkapur (CT).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 958 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 20°42'14.0"N 77°04'39.4"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Akola East constituency, which are: Akot, Daryapur, Murtijapur, Akola West, Balapur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Randhir Pralhadrao Sawarkar of BJP won in this constituency beating Bhade Haridas Pandhari of VBA by a margin of 24,495 votes which was 12.67% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Savarkar Randhir Pralhadrao of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bhade Haridas Pandhari of BBM by a margin of 2,440 votes which was 1.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bhade Haridas Pandhari of BBM won this seat defeating Gulabrao Ramrao Gawande of SS by a margin of 14,244 votes which was 9.62% of the total votes polled for the seat.
