In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Pratap Grewal of INC won in this seat defeating Sanjay Singh Baghel of BJP by a margin of 36,205 which was 22.01% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 58.61% in 2018 in this seat.
In 2013, Welsingh Bhuriya of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Pratap Grewal of INC by a margin of 529 votes which was 0.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 46.2% in the seat.
