In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Subhash Chandra of BJP won in this seat defeating Banshmani Prasad of INC by a margin of 10,678 which was 6.37% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 37.77% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Rajendra Meshram of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Banshmani Prasad Verma of IND by a margin of 33,214 votes which was 23.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 45.16% in the seat.
