In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Alok Chaturvedi (Pajjan Bhaiya) of INC won in this seat defeating Archna Guddu Singh of BJP by a margin of 3,495 which was 2.38% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 44.84% in 2018 in this seat.
In 2013, Lalita Yadav of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Alok Chaturvedi (Pajjan Bhaiya) of INC by a margin of 2,217 votes which was 1.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 35.37% in the seat.
In the 2008 elections, Lalita Yadav of BJP won this seat beating Deelmani@ Babbu Raja of BSP by a margin of 7,855 votes which was 8.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 34.42% in the seat.
Chhatarpur Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 19.27% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 0.88%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008.
