In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, T I Madhusoodanan of CPIM won in this constituency beating M Pradeep Kumar of INC by a margin of 49780 votes which was 33.35% of the total votes cast. In 2016, C Krishnan of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Sajid Mavval of INC by a margin of 40263 votes which was 28.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, C.Krishnan of CPIM won this seat defeating Adv. K. Brijesh Kumar of INC by a margin of 32124 votes which was 24.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
