In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, T V Ibrahim of IUML won in this constituency beating Kattuparuthy Sulaiman Haji of IND by a margin of 17666 votes which was 10.8% of the total votes cast. In 2016, T.V. Ibrahim of IUML was the winner in this seat beating K.P. Beerankutty of IND by a margin of 10654 votes which was 7.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K Muhammedunni Haji of MUL won this seat defeating P C Naushad of CPIM by a margin of 28149 votes which was 23.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
