This constituency covers an approximate area of 278 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kasaragod is: 12°33'02.5"N 75°02'20.8"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 70.87%, while it was 76.64% in 2016, and 73.5% in 2011.
Victory margin
In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, N A Nellikkunnu of IUML won in this constituency beating Adv K Shreekanth of BJP by a margin of 12901 votes which was 8.97% of the total votes cast. In 2016, N A Nellikkunnu of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Ravisha Thantri Kuntar of BJP by a margin of 8607 votes which was 5.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N.A.Nellikkunnu of MUL won this seat defeating Jayalakshmi N Bhat of BJP by a margin of 9738 votes which was 8.32% of the total votes polled for the seat.
