Kalliasseri Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kannur district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Cherukunnu, Cheruthazham, Ezhome, Kadannappalli- Panapuzha, Kalliasseri, Kannapuram, Kunhimangalam, Madayi and Mattool Panchayats in Kannur taluk and Pattuvam Panchayat in Taliparamba Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 210 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kalliasseri is: 12°02'26.5"N 75°18'37.4"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 76.41%, while it was 78.35% in 2016, and 79.36% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, M Vijin of CPIM won in this constituency beating Adv Brijesh Kumar of INC by a margin of 44393 votes which was 30.63% of the total votes cast. In 2016, T V Rajesh of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Amritha Ramakrishnan of INC by a margin of 42891 votes which was 30.91% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, T.V. Rajesh of CPIM won this seat defeating Adv. P. Indira of INC by a margin of 29946 votes which was 23.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, M Vijin of CPIM had a vote share of 60.9% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, T V Rajesh of CPIM got a vote share of 59.83% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, T.V. Rajesh of CPIM got a vote share of 58.62% in Kalliasseri.
