Jamtara comprises of the following areas of Jamtara district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Jamtara police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Karmatanr, Sahajpur, Pindari, Lakhanpur, Rataniya, Rampurbhitra and Kajra) and Narayanpur police station in Jamrara sub­division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 697.14 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 23°59'24.0"N 86°38'31.9"E.
