    There were a total of 2,81,935 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Borio Assembly constituency, of which 1,40,415 were male, 1,41,516 female and 4 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,50,607 registered voters, of which 1,27,362 were male, 1,23,242 female and 3 from the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,33,878 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,20,069 were male and 1,13,809 female. Borio comprises of the following areas of Sahebganj district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Borio and Talihari police stations in Rajmahal sub-division; and Boarijor police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Rajabhita, Kero, Kairasol, Bara Telo and Barapipra) in Godda sub-division.

    This constituency covers an approximate area of 1132.77 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 25°05'28.3"N 87°37'06.2"E.

    A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Borio constituency, which are: Mahagama, Barhait, Rajmahal. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Malda district of West Bengal, Bhgalpur district of Bihar.

    In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Lobin Hembrom of JMM won in this constituency beating Surya Narayan Hansada of BJP by a margin of 17,924 votes which was 10.98% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tala Marandi of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Lobin Hembrom of JMM by a margin of 712 votes which was 0.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Lobin Hembram of JMM won this seat defeating Tala Marandi of BJP by a margin of 9,040 votes which was 7.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
