Demographic profile

There were a total of 5,73,742 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Bokaro Assembly constituency, of which 2,98,225 were male, 2,75,487 female and 30 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 5,26,660 registered voters, of which 2,83,112 were male, 2,43,518 female and 30 from the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 4,92,853 registered voters in this constituency, of which 2,68,905 were male and 2,23,948 female. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 4,44,370 which included 2,51,235 male and 1,93,135 female voters.

Bokaro comprises of the following areas of Bokaro district in the North Jharkhand region of Jharkhand: Chas police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Bijulia, Alkusa, Buribinor, Khamarbendi, Dudhigajar, Kura Dabartupara, Jaitara, Pundru and Sardaha) in Baghmara sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 333.75 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 23°38'12.1"N 86°07'49.4"E.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Bokaro constituency, which are: Bermo, Baghmara, Chandankyari. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Purulia district of West Bengal.

Voter turnout

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Jharkhand constituency was 52.06%. In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Biranchi Narayan of BJP won in this constituency beating Shweta Singh of INC by a margin of 13,313 votes which was 04.91% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Biranchi Narayan of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Samaresh Singh of IND by a margin of 72,643 votes which was 27.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Samresh Singh of JVM won this seat defeating Md Izrail Ansari of INC by a margin of 16,305 votes which was 8.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
