In 2014, Kunal Sharangi of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Dineshananda Goswami of BJP by a margin of 15,355 votes which was 9.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bidyut Baran Mahato of JMM won this seat defeating Dinesh Kumar Sarangi of BJP by a margin of 17,154 votes which was 12.48% of the total votes polled for the seat.
