In 2014, Dr Hari Chand Middha of INLD was the winner in this seat beating Surinder Singh Barwala of BJP by a margin of 2,257 votes which was 1.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Hari Chand Middha of INLD won this seat defeating Mange Ram Gupta of INC by a margin of 7,862 votes which was 8.4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
