There were a total of 2,62,199 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Ambala City Assembly constituency, of which 1,36,600 were male, 1,25,579 female and 20 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,54,168 registered voters, of which 1,33,544 were male, 1,20,617 female and 7 from the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,28,573 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,20,601 were male and 1,07,972 female. In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Aseem Goel Naneola of BJP won in this constituency beating Nirmal Singh Mohra of IND by a margin of 8,952 votes which was 05.82% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Aseem Goel of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Venod Sharma of HJCPV by a margin of 23,252 votes which was 14.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Venod Sharma of INC won this seat defeating Bibi Charanjeet Kaur Mallour of SAD by a margin of 35,550 votes which was 27.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
