The eldest---and now-estranged---son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, Tej Pratap has previously served as a cabinet minister in the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government but is often in the news for his controversies and unusual public behaviour. He was expelled from RJD in May 2025 amid a row over a social media post featuring his ‘partner of 12 years’.
