In the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Tesam Pongte of BJP won in this constituency beating Thinghaap Taiju of INC by a margin of 3,015 votes which was 38.04% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tesam Pongte of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Thinghaap Taiju of INC by a margin of 1,037 votes which was 13.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Thinghaap Taiju of INC won this seat defeating Wangnia Pongte of TMC by a margin of 1,254 votes which was 16.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.
