In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Ambati Rambabu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kodela Siva Prasada Rao of TDP by a margin of 20,876 votes which was 10.25% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Ambati Rambabu of YSRCP by a margin of 924 votes which was 0.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Yarram Venkateswara Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Nimmakayala Raja Narayana of TDP by a margin of 7,147 votes which was 4.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
