In 2014, Anagani Satya Prasad of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 13,355 votes which was 7.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao of INC won this seat defeating Anagani Satya Prasad of TDP by a margin of 5,945 votes which was 3.78% of the total votes polled for the seat.
