In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Adireddy Bhavani of TDP won in this constituency beating Routhu Surya Prakasa Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 30,065 votes which was 17.94% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Akula Satyanarayana of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bommana Raj Kumar of YSRCP by a margin of 26,377 votes which was 16.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Routhu Surya Prakasarao of INC won this seat defeating Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary of TDP by a margin of 1,284 votes which was 0.97% of the total votes polled for the seat.
