In 2014, Varupula Subbarao of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Parvatha Sri Satyanarayanamurthy of TDP by a margin of 3,413 votes which was 2.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Parvatha Srisatyanarayana Murthy of TDP won this seat defeating Varupula Subbarao of INC by a margin of 3,286 votes which was 2.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
