In 2014, Uma Maheswara Rao Devineni of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Jogi Ramesh of YSRCP by a margin of 7,569 votes which was 3.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Uma Maheswara Rao Devineni of TDP won this seat defeating Appasani Sandeep of INC by a margin of 12,667 votes which was 7.37% of the total votes polled for the seat.
