In 2014, M Mani Gandhi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Madharapu Renukamma of BJP by a margin of 52,384 votes which was 34.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Parigela Murali Krishna of INC won this seat defeating M Mani Gandhi of TDP by a margin of 5,325 votes which was 4.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
