In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Dulam Nageswara Rao (Dnr) of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Jayamangala Venkata Ramana of TDP by a margin of 9,357 votes which was 5.45% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kamineni Srinivas of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Uppala Ram Prasad of YSRPP by a margin of 21,571 votes which was 13.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jayamangala Venkata Ramana of TDP won this seat defeating Kamineni Srinivas of PRAP by a margin of 974 votes which was 0.62% of the total votes polled for the seat.
