In 2014, Ashok Bendalam of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Nartu Rama Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 25,278 votes which was 15.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Piriya Sairaj of TDP won this seat defeating Narthu Ramarao of INC by a margin of 2,275 votes which was 1.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
