In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Gorle Kiran Kumar of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kalavenkata Rao Kimidi of TDP by a margin of 18,711 votes which was 9.58% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kalavenkatarao Kimidi of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Gorle Kirankumar of YSRCP by a margin of 4,741 votes which was 2.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Meesala Neelakantam of INC won this seat defeating Nayana Suryanarayana Reddy of TDP by a margin of 15,015 votes which was 9.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
