In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Amarnath Gudivada of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Peela Govinda Satyanarayana of TDP by a margin of 8,169 votes which was 5.13% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Peela Govinda Satyanarayana of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Konathala Raghunath of YSRCP by a margin of 22,341 votes which was 14.91% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ganta Srinivasa Rao of PRAP won this seat defeating Konathala Ramakrishna of INC by a margin of 10,866 votes which was 7.57% of the total votes polled for the seat.
