In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Thammineni Seetharam of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Koona Ravikumar of TDP by a margin of 13,991 votes which was 9.32% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Koona Ravikumar of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Thammineni Seetharam of YSRCP by a margin of 5,449 votes which was 4.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Boddepalli Satyavathi of INC won this seat defeating Thammineni Seetharam of PRAP by a margin of 16,209 votes which was 13.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
